Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig 21st September, 1983). 21 1982) is an acclaimed American actor. Particularly, she played Shannon Rutherford from ABC's Lost TV series and Kim Mills for the Taken Trilogy. After the divorce of her parents the actress left Worthington in Ohio and moved in Los Angeles. While struggling financially she landed her first role as Rachel's Room's title character the web-based video show Rachel's Room in 2001. Her performance in the role of Martha Moxley, a 15-year-old victim of murder, in the television film Murder In Greenwich in 2002, earned her a nomination for a Young Artist Award. Grace Rutherford played Shannon Rutherford for Lost's first two seasons of 2004 and she shared a Screen Actors Guild Award (with other cast members) with her. Grace was keen to pursue film after starring opposite Tom Welling's character in The Fog, in 2005. Grace has been in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club and in 2007 as well as in Taken with Liam Neeson in 2008 as Kim Mills. She played the same role on Taken 2 and Taken 3 (both in 2012). Grace reprised the role of Shannon in two episodes of Lost as well as the show's finale. Grace was a part of the show's sixth season that aired from 2013 to the year 2014. She plays Faith as a fan and muse of the stars. Hank Moody as played by David Duchovny falls in love with her. She is a member of the Gyllenhaal clan and the younger sister of Jake Gyllenhaal. Her first roles were in films starring her father in his adolescent years. Along with her brother, she also appeared as a character in Donnie Darko (2000). Later, she was in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind as well as Mona Lisa Smile (both 2002). Gyllenhaal has received acclaim from critics for her performance in the romantic erotic comedy Secretary (2002) and the thriller Sherrybaby (2006) both of which brought her a Golden Globe Award nomination. She gained wider recognition after playing Rachel Dawes, a superhero in The Dark Knight (2008) due to the success of several commercial films she starred in in 2006. In the wake of her performance that was a hit as an unmarried mother of Crazy Heart (2009), she was awarded the Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. In the following years, she was in comedies and dramas which included Nanny McPhee's Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011 and Won't Back Down 2012 Other roles are as an agent of the Secret Service in White House Down 2013, as a vocalist in Frank 2014 and also the role of a teacher in The Kindergarten Teacher 2018, where she is the main character. Gyllenhaal's debut as a writer and director came in 2021 when she wrote The Lost Daughter, a psycho-drama in which she won the Venice International Film Festival Best Screenplay Award. She also was awarded the Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.
